Kristina Cardona’s Review of ‘I Believe in Unicorns’
(Dear Kristina, I hope you don’t mind me pasting your comment about the book I suggested you read recently – I Believe in Unicorns by Michael Morpurgo:)
Hi Ms Rosienne,
Thanks for the suggestion of the book. I just finished reading the story with the help of my mother. At first i was imaging my self instead of the boy not wanting go to the library. Just like me he ended up loving going to the library. This a very very interesting story. It was nice that at the end they rebuilt the library again.

An interesting story you might wish to read
Hello there! How are you soon-to-be Junior 3s? Hope you are enjoying your holidays.
I came across the following story and I thought some of you might be interested to read it. It is called ‘I Believe in Unicorns’ and is written by Michael Morpurgo. He is an author Ms Vanessa will surely talk to you about in Junior 3 but, still, I think this is the right age for you to read this particular story.

End of Junior 2!!!
Dear Parents and Kids of Junior 2A and 2B,
Here we are at the end of another scholastic year! A year full of plenty of activities and opportunities for you to develop your skills, gifts, talents and interests. We’ve done our utmost to present learning in a fun and enjoyable way to motivate each and every one of you. There were also times when we adopted different approaches with different children, not because we wanted to treat you differently or unfairly, but because we care about the unique characteristics, needs and aptitudes of each pupil under our care.
I can truly say that I feel so proud of your efforts, performance and achievements in the different areas of our curriculum. Most of you have not only made a conscious effort to listen attentively during explanations and participate actively in our discussions and debates, but have also extended your efforts beyond the classroom walls. I really hope you keep up your motivation to learn and to strive for excellence.
Thank you dear parents for the feedback you are giving me about your child’s experience as Junior 2 pupils. Your constant support and keen interest in your child’s education make our job a rewarding and successful endeavour. Thank you for the beautiful gifts and the enjoyable evening out with you mummies! But most of all, thank you for trusting us teachers with the care and education of your precious children!
I will keep each and every child in my heart and, rest assured, I will also pay a regular visit to the Junior 3 classroom next year to say hello.
A few notices:
- Holy Communion Celebration tomorrow Thursday 24th June at 6.30pm. With regards to dress code, daddies do not need to wear a jacket – a shirt and a tie will do. As to you mummies, all you need to do is dress smartly like you usually do:)
- End of Year Party on Friday 25th June: Children are to come dressed casually (no uniform) and bring along a drink, a paper plate and some food to share with their friends. Also put on some sun cream lotion and bring a cap as we will be spending some time outside playing on the turf.
- Summer Revision Booklet: we have prepared a booklet for each of the three main subjects. Junior 2A should have brought it home today whilst Junior 2B pupils will be getting it tomorrow. There are a few parents who did not send the 2.50euro for the booklets – if you’d still like a copy, please let me know by tomorrow.
- Books to keep for next year: please note that the children will be using the Jolly Phonics dictionary as well as the index book in Junior 3 so please make sure you keep them somewhere safe:)
My best wishes for a great summer!
Lots of love
